Reviews
Now called Arome Art Cafe, this coffee shop has recently changed ownership and there were many much needed improvements and upgrades. The food is great and the coffee is practically the same as before.
We personally like the chopped sub best, order it everytime we visit.
Vibe
Now called Arome Art Cafe, the vibe isn't the same. You know the saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it," well, somebody bought out Achilles and tried to fix it. However, it didn't work out well. It's still early and adjustments can be made.
Food
It took 45 minutes to get my buffalo chicken cesar wrap. Although it wasn't bad, the wait was waaay too long due to a receipt issue that they were experiencing. Also, I remember the wraps a bit larger in the past and possibly a dollar or two cheaper. There was a customer who requested a refund due to the wait. Another, returned their pastry due to mold.
Overall Thoughts
This was once a nice place for an "eccentric" group of people to hang out at what I consider to be a safe space. Like I said, today was their grand opening. There is room for some tweaks.
Cool place to come hang out, nice vibes, and great selection of music playing. Their pastries and drinks were really nice but their food did not hit the spot. I found my caprese sandwich heavy on the cheese and spices side and felt like I was eating a grilled cheese really. The decoration, tv, and atmosphere is a bit busy inside, so just be aware if you’re coming here to study there May be a lot of distractions, including music that hits so good you stop what you’re doing to sing-a-long haha
My sister and I visited this place on a Saturday late afternoon. It's a very artsy and cute spot to relax. Most of the other patrons there seemed to be college students with their laptops. We both ordered the creme brulee chai. While it was pretty, it was way too sweet for our taste and barely warm. When searching for a seat with a table, the ones that were available had not been cleaned and had dishes and trash from previous guest. The employees were very friendly and quickly attended us. The overall vibe and art was pretty cool and interesting. They also had a variety of different genre music playing which is always a plus in my book.
Delicious food, mocha was good and sweet but not sweet enough to be unappetizing, The environment is nice and good and chill, I recommend it to relax and drink some coffee and eat a pastry or sweet, All in all I Love it!
( side note: I already drank a bit of coffee but it was a heart shape!)
Great atmosphere and Awesome coffee!
Definitely recommend for a first date or afternoon study/work session.
As far as a local café goes, Achilles has not disappointed. The ambience from inside is relaxing and comfortable. The walls are decorated with the work of different local artists, and they sometimes change the pieces. I've had chocolate frappes when going here, and they don't oversaturate them with sugar.
Come by Achilles to get your coffee and snacks. It certainly beats Starbucks.
I went to study for an exam and I felt like I was in a hoarders home. Too much going on, as far as decor, and it just felt and looked unclean. The staff was nice and my drink was ok.
